whats the proper procedure to set the choke cable on the carburator.
also is there a rule of thumb adjustment for the two adjustment screws on the carburator.
my 59 t-340 wants to sputter and stall when i push the choke lever back in. It will only stay running if the choke is left out.
thanks

might be suckin air.My T340 did that and when i rebuilt the carb i found a lot of play in the throttle shaft, the rebuild kit came with a bushing to replace and take up the slop.

Sounds like you have dirt in the fuel system. On the T4,T5's , they had a sediment bowl (not sure with your T-340). Check there and also check filters at the fuel-pumps, either mechanical and or electircal and then pull carb and blow out bowl and jets. My cub did the same thing and I pulled carb apart and blew it out and it has ran good ever-since.
