Hi, Big Diesel. I'm with Bob. I don't know U.S. tractor values as I live DownUnder but, with all that work done to it, $17,000 sounds fairly cheap to me for a large yellow pile of assorted scrap steel that has the potential to go out and earn you a living if you so desire. Those old 46A D8's were one damn fine tractor. For mine there haven't been too many built better before or since and Cat have built most of those. If you have the work for it -- or if you want to put it on the mantlepiece and brag about it -- it could be well worth every cent of it. (Mind you, $17,000 could be an awful lot of bragging.) Just bear in mind that it takes a 35 ton float to move it anywhere you can't drive it. Your average tandem axle car trailer won't quite make the grade -- nor the F100 either. With another parts machine thrown in, I'd say at a guess it's good value. Wish I could get that deal down here for $17,000 Australian. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
