If it was running I'd say it was worth at least $3000, mainly because of the size and the "parting out value". On that note the weight is 39,060 without a blade. As far as the value as a servicable machine, with a spun main bearing, that's hard to say. If the crank isn't hurt and a repair can be made easily then your not looking at a whole lot to get it fixed, especially if you can do the repairs yourself. However if the crank is screwed up and the engine has to come out and be rebuilt your looking in the neighborhood of 15,000 plus just for parts. I'm estimating a little here and dropping a few thousand because of the "smaller" D342 engine but I just priced parts for a rebuild on a D353 in a comparable year model D9 and it was over $18,000. If it's still pony start make sure the pony runs and is in good shape. Rebuilding the mag alone will run you around $500. I know that for a fact because I just had one done for a 14A for a customer about 6 months ago. Make sure that the sprockets are in good shape also. I've been looking for one with the replacable segments for my customers machine and so far have struck out finding anything but a repair ring for the origional one piece, spoked style, and that's not what he wants. If you decide you don't want the machine, if the undercarriage is in decent shape (ie the sprockets aren't nubbed down to nothing), and it's not too far from NC, my customer might be interested in it simply for parts. If you don't mind let me know what what you decide and if you pass on the deal I'll pass the info along to my guy. My email is Nota55Nomad@AOL.com Thanks, Wayne
