Was given a D4 that is pretty bad shape. Not runnable. I thought the sprockets looked good, but knowledgeable friend pointed out the careful welding on tooth tips and then showed me that the chains were worn through to the pins. Ye gads this all looks costly. Can the chains (tracks) be turned around so that the sprocket is working against the cast again???

the pins & bushings themselves aren't too expensive as long as the rails(links)are in good shape.go over to ACMOC.org(antique Cat site).there are sometimes tracks for sale there.lots of info free for the asking too.

Hey Headscratcher, you can have the pins and bushings turned in the rails (chains) but since its already worn through on one side dont look for it to last too long its been my experience that the bushings will begin busting chunks out of them soon after you start using it. good luck
