i have an oil filter assymbly here. it came off of my f 20 but is not factory. on the top it says luber finer inc, los angeles, made in usa, model 200-s. the cartrige says luber finer pak, desil pak. does anyone know what this came off of, or if it is aftermarket? does anyone know a part number? how bout why it found its way onto my F?

Put one on SMTA in late 50's. It holds 3 extra quarts of oil. They were used on trucks and all kinds of large machines. Can still buy filters at NAPA 1017. Were and still are a great filtering sys

my grandad told me he installed one on his f-12,because they came without an oil filter,id ask more but he passed on about 2 years ago.luberfiner is still in business i think.ive also seen these units on trucks.hope this helps

There was a filter size that was used as an add-on for many engines in the 40's and 50's. It was a partial flow filter, with just a fraction of the total oil flow going through the filter at any particular moment. It used small diameter lines and the filter housing was usually bolted to the intake manifold with u-bolts. As best I can remember, it was called "military standard jr." Perhaps a parts house could show you one of these cartridges and see if it matches what you have.
