Does anyone know how to take the air cleaner element(wire mesh)out of the tin part on an f-20? The case around mine is all dented up and i would like to straighten it out, but i can't get to the inside of the tin. Also, is there supposed to be a tag or somethin on the outside of the case? if it matters, my tractor is a 39. thanks guys.

Howdy Adam: The tin around the metal canister is welded. There are a couple of options. (A- spot weld a small machine bolt or screw, into the dented section and then pry the dent out with a small pry bar or claw hammer. After it’s brought out the best you can, break off the screw and grind and fill the remainder of the indentation. (B- drill a small hole in the canister, screw in a small sheet metal screw and then pry the dented section out. Remove the screw and again, grind and fill. (Option b is only if you’re not going to the fill the canister with oil.) (C- leave it alone. All these machines were well used and they all have battle scars. (Some prefer to see them that way.) There is an air cleaner tag that attaches to the canister, It should say Model 60 International air cleaner and then give instructions as to filling with oil, along with the patent numbers. Good luck on what ever you decide to do. Brad Anderson (ore)
