I did a post on my Super C clutch problem a week or two ago. My tractor had a throw out bearing that did not contain a bearing at all. Instead it had a graphite ring that was cast into a collar. This graphite ring contacted the pressure plate fingers to release the clutch. Mine wore out after about fifty years of continuous use. I searched every where for a replacement to no avail. After researching the subject I've found that only the earliest Super Cs had this type release bearing. All of the later ones have a separate release collar with a replaceable ball bearing. The two types are directly interchangeable. If you encounter this problem, I would suggest that you find the collar used, and buy a new bearing. The new collars are tremendously expensive and the old ones don't seem to wear out. Alvin

I was able to buy the graphite one at the IH dealer in Bolivar MO. I think it was about $35

I had the same type of throw out bearing but mine was in really really bad shape so I bought a new one from my IH dealer. It has a replaceable bearing but it cost $126. I don't plan on spliting that tractor for a long long time.
