Howdy Shawn:

If you can’t see what’s in there, I assume that you’re having trouble getting the clutch housing (cover)off the bell housing. The clutch housing comes off in one piece. The Clutch shaft, clutch shifter forks, etc. should come off with it. If you’ve removed the clutch housing bolts and it won’t lift off, it’s probably that the clutch shaft is rusted onto the clutch spline. My suggestion would be to remove the clutch housing hand hole cover and spray penetrating oil, WD-40, etc in there and see if that will help. (Better watch for mice though, they enter through the timing hole opening in the bell housing and just love to make there home in there. Their excrement can make the rusting sever.) If you can get the clutch housing loose, even just a bit; you should be able to roll the cover over so that the hand hole is up. (It’ll make it much easier to squirt the penetrating oil in.) Give it a few days to soak, and hopefully it’ll loosen up enough so you can get it free. Brad A (ore)

To answer your question, remove bell housing bolts and coupler, clutch rod and all should come out with no more work. That is provided you don't have a mouse nest or water has gotten into clutch if one or both of these have occured, you have a lot of work to do. I have had this problem and some times I can get most of nest and rust dug out through timing hole. But in severe cases after soaking with penetrant, and heating have had to cut jack shaft with torch and get another. Best advice is see if mouse nest, if so ddig out as much as possible and spray penetrant through cover plate at bottom of housing and heat. If rust, penetrate and heat. When prying bell housing pry on both sides at time to prevent breakage and warping. Also have had jackshaft rust to pilot bearing this can be as difficult as rust and mouse nest. This can take quite a while so be patient,by taking it slow and easy you should get there.
