I appreciate the feedback on what oil and weight to use in my SMTA. I don't have my owners mannual yet, so could someone tell me how to check my oil levels. I don't want to over fill. Thanks

Use Hy-Trans in tranny/TA as well as PTO. There is a plug just forward of the clutch pedal and when oil starts to run out of it, your tranny is full. There is also a plug on the same side that is in the TA housing, and you should get a little oil running out of it also. The TA and tranny are connected and take about 13gal to fill. On the PTO there is 2 plugs on the left side, when oil runs out the top plug, it is full.

I use 80w90 in the tranny and Hytrans hyd in the live PTo...The manual recommends 10w, but Hytrans is superior..some guys use Hytrans in the tranny too.....Most of these tractors have a plug on the side of the housing...these plugs are the high oil mark....Dave
