I looked at the serial number info on this site and it doesn't list a 584, but does list a 574. Cousin has a 584 that he's trying to find the value of to settle his father's estate, so I'm trying to help him. The ser. no. tag on the tractor says it was made in Great Britian. Ser. no. is, B500004 B002445-X. Does that look familiar to anyone? It has 4-cyl. diesel, 8 forward gears, 4 reverse, pwr. steering, 16.9 x 30 rears (90%/95%), rear remote hydraulics, very good-looking tractor. Has 3,042 hours, never had loader on it. Any guesses as to it's value? Thanks

Stan, we bought a 584 in 1985 for $15900 Canadian and that was their new price tag. We have only 800 hours on this tractor and I have been offered$12000 Canadian for it but am not interested in selling it.This tractor will start at -27 without ether or being plugged in. I use it all winter to blow snow with a 7'single auger blower. It cuts 10acres of hay every summer and bales as well. It doesn't get a lot of work but you can count on it to go summer or winter and it is kept shedded and still looks great. Other 584's in our parts still go for $7-8000 in good condition. This may give you some idea of the worth of your cousins tractor. Good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario

Gentlemen, This has nothing to do with the value with the 584 but is about a problen I have with mine. I bought a new 1000 amp batery and put in in backwards. The negative ground had a red band bt the connecter and the positive had a black band. I did not atempt to start the tractor but when I did later the battery was completely dead. I removed the battery and charged it, and when it started every thing appeared to be fine, but when I shut it the key off and the engine down the red light came on on the dash. I did not want to chance a dead short so I Disconnected the Ground. When I need to run the tractor I hook it up and everything to function. Shut it down and the red lights are back on. Any Sugestions out there? thanks Dick

Thanks Mike,
Sounds good. This tractor has about 3000 hrs on it, but looks really good. It is hard to start in winter though, and we're in Alabama, USA, which doesn't even have winter by your standards! I'm only going on info given me by my cousin, I've not used the tractor myself. But thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
