In the eyes of most tractor buffs with a real farming background, the Super MTA is one of the most desirable tractors to have. I guess this is because, in it's time(1954), it represented to Farmall people the illtimate refinement of the M, which was still bought and widely respected, but getting a little out of date. In the SMTA the buyer got most of what the regular M didn't have, namely independant PTO, live hydraulics, torque amplifier(which besides giving a no-clutch shift-down, gave you speeds between the old 4th gear and 5th, or road gear), a lot more power, a really nice seat, sealed beam type lights, and a host of other little convenience items that add up to one nice tractor. Yeah, I loved the SMTA, I guess, but at that time, I spent a lotta time on tractors and the SMTA impressed me mucho. So, to me, you can't spend too much to have a real nice SMTA tractor. Yours is nice, but you can do more for it, you know what it needs yet to be a complete beauty, it's up to you.
