Friends of mine have an H. They aren't sure where the starting handle is stored on the tractor when out of use. They don't have guards on it and were thinking they should have some clips etc. to hold it to the chassis??? Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!

There should be a sqaure piece of tubing on the front of each axel that the bolts for the draw bar goes through. This tubing should stick up a little bit past the top of the axel above the bolt hole. I always stick the handle end of the cranke down in that hole in the center of that square tubing. Never lost one yet storing it there and sometimes I use the cranke as a foot rest while driving the tractor.

Thank you for your replies. I have a W6 and I thought between the engine and frame but they weren't sure.

Regards

Andrew

Go buy your self a fertilizer box. There is no better place for starting cranks, coolers, oil, tools etc...than a fertilizer box!

Andrew, "When I was growing up on the Farm" we laid the crank on "The Platform" between the shifting lever and the seat. It stayed there for years and I cannot remember ever losing a crank on an H or an M.

I store mine behind the clutch rod and hooked over the top of the lift-all connector elbow.//FB

I put mine under the distributor between the frame rail and block.

My grandpa kept his there and I see no reason to change. But it only fits in well one way.
