if its just the axle tube and its not cast, should be no problem to straighten it. 10 ton porta power should straighten it out no problem, i would bend it cold, so you dont anneal the steel. if you dont have access to a porta power, a hydraulic bottle jack 10 or 20 ton, and an i beam or piece of railroad track. if the middle is bowed, chain the center to the beam, and push up on each end till straight, if the center is low, chain the ends and push up on the center.

I have never bent one. But if it can be straightened weld a chunk of channel under it. Seen this done many times on loader tractors.

There's an ol' boy over across the hill that's got a loader tractor front end equipped with an underslung bridge truss and then the two knees are pulled together via a chain and small boomer.

I don't see how you'd ever bend one either. Usually, those knees snap out from under 'em first.

If it keeps doing that long enough it will eventually cut the pin off and set you on the ground. I did that once with a Super C.

Yeah,

I'll have to put the wrenches to 'er and tighten the cinch down. I wondered why it had a bolt in there originally. :>)

Sounds like he might be in the market for a new front end. :))

My Hydro 70 has had a "clunk" sound in it ever since I put on the 66 series front end.

Finally found it the other day. That darned left pin hole is elongated a bit and it lets the inner tube "roll" about 1/8" when I change directions.

Doesn't hurt anything, but it sure drives me crazy! :>)

Gary: I never tried to straighten one, however my first concern is, will it stay once you've straightened it. I 've put these wide fronts through a lot of punishment in my day, never saw one bend. I find it hard to imagine what anyone could have done to bend it. I think I'd walk away.
