The loader arms continually drift upwards. I cannot seem to find a neutral position on the control valve (used to have one.) Also, at times, there is no downward pressure. Response times vary, sometimes responds quickly, other times it is very slow. Bucket tilt works, however it experiences the same issues with response time. These issues occur in all weather conditions. Any suggestions on what to look for? Thank you...

Hi, since brakes and PS work good then the problem is not the hydraulic pump as the first thing that goes is the brakes. If the loader arms drift upward then possibility a problem with with the external hydraulic control valves. Slow response time could be a flow problem anywhere from the MCV valve to the loader cylinders. The usual way the external loader hydraulic control valves are connected into the tractor hydraulic system is by removing the hydraulic return pipe off the top of the remote outlet control valve by your right hand under the seat. The return pipe goes from the remote control valve to the draft control mechanism under the back of the seat. This pipe is removed and the inlet side of the external loader valves is connected to the outlet at the remote control valve and the outlet of the loader valves can be returned to the inlet of the draft control mechanism or the draft control inlet can be capped off and the outlet of the external loader valves connected to a drain plug by the bottom of the right axle or filler plug behind the seat. Since this is an open center hydraulic system oil has to constantly flow in a loop unless it is diverted by a valve. So if you use the remote control lever by your right foot to operate a remote cylinder the loader will not work as there is no oil flow to the loader control valves.

Hope my explanation of the hydraulic setup will assist you with trouble shooting the problem.

Can you switch the control valves between loader arms and bucket to see if symptoms change?

Re 574, does the power steering and power brakes work properly?

Simple things first new hydraulic filter and plenty of Hytran in rear end.

How is the loader connected to the 574's hydraulic system?
1)Via remotes at the rear?

2)Via a separate set of hydraulic control valves that are connected under the seat via the remote control valve?

The power steering and brakes work well. As far as the hydraulics are concerned, it is option #2.
