Hi Guys,I have an International 424 which I think I am going to try to tighten up the front end on. When you shake the front end, I can see the steering post move. I am not sure if this is something that I can tackle myself, but I would like to try if you guys don’t think it will be too daunting. Here is what I am thinking of doing, removing the bushings on the steering post, replacing with new bushings and replacing the thrust bearings. From looking at the shop manual, it looks pretty simple, removing the tie rod, taking the steering arm off, removing a woodruff key, and then sliding the steering knuckle out. Here are my questions. 1. Do I need any special tools to get the steering arm off? (Maybe use a wheel puller somehow)? I am assuming it is just held in place by friction from the two bolts (it’s not splined), and once they are off it should remove fairly easily. 2. What is the best way to get the old bushings out? Do you guys use something like a bearing puller or a blind hole puller? 3. Any general advice or things I should watch out for? Am I missing someting? Is this something that’s tough, and I should let the professionals do? I appreciate any help/or guidance. Thanks,
