When I seen the picture of the engine, I thought to myself,,, "He is gonna like that engine!" Do you have the bigger carb and intake for it? Now I know it takes away originality,,, but hey, the engine has to run right!!! Right?? LOL! On the IGN,, run a resistor on the power lead to the coil,, it will add time to your pick up and not be overloaded... you will still have plenty of juice to the plugs, but its easier on the system, and will last longer. You need to break it in right when you fire it up,,, so have some extra engine oil, filter, maybe a set of plugs, and a valve cover gasket,,, Once you get it warmed up really well the first time, go back and retorque every bolt you have had a wrench on. Cyl head bolts, and manifold bolts,,, drive shaft coupler if you had it apart,,, etc etc etc,,, then once you reset the valve lash, you can fire it back up and run it for a while,, under a load is best, but you need to get those rings broke in asap,,, best method is on a dyno,,, Be gentle,, you dont want to rush perfection,,,,, so run it at about 1/2 throttle with a light load for about 2 hours,,, change the oil,, check everything out,, no leaks,, etc etc,,, good time to pull out the plugs,,, check them for color, (fuel delivery) check the gaps,, which you can run up to .045 with the electronic ign,,, but try it at .035 to start with,,,, After that,, run it at a harder load, but still half throttle,,, for about 30 minutes,, let it cool completly. Once it has cooled off, repeat the load on the dyno for about 2 more hours,,, till you get about 10-15 hours on the engine. After that, it should be well on its way to a good break in, and may be ready for power tuning for best workable HP. Also,, do you have a H cam, or a SH-350 cam in it? Chad
