Hey guys,

I have two questions that I hope I can get some help on...

1. The power steering cylinder is leaking on my 966 and I am trying to drive the pin out that connects the cylinder to the front end. It won't even begin to budge - has anyone over come this in the past???

2. Sometimes when in 4th gear on the LOW side it keeps wanting to jump out of LOW... is there an easy fix for this?

I would appreciate your help... just got the tractor and this is all that is wrong besides a shot seat and steering wheel. Really makes things go bad fast when left sitting outside.

Thanks, G

The spring he speaks of is under the range cover that is under your feet as you sit in the bad seat. There is a floor board plate that comes off with four bolts. Then the cover will have 2 linkage arms going to it from the front and a park brake rod also. When you get all the rods and bolts off of the cover put a nut under the park brake arm to keep it disengaged as you pull the cover up. The cover will be stuck so tap on it with bfh. It's got dowel pins so it won't move sideways. The covers hole sometimes is wore. Get a rebuilt cover and shaft. Under the cover is a cam, spring, roller and another arm. Good luck.

Don't worry about driving out the pin , that end is screwed on the end of the cylinder rod, just unscrew it from the other end , some of those other ends have two flat spots for a wrench. I have a good steering wheel that would fit it. On the trans the detent spring is probably gone and that might fix it, if not it will be deeper.Does it not jump out of anything else?
