Hi, I have a Hebard Shop Mule Type A 14 V, Serial NO H6629 looking for any information on this type. Looks like it might have been an aircraft tug, thats what it's used for now. Are there any pictures of this type, when was it manufactured are there any manuals. Thanks

Hi All,
I want to thank all of you for the information on the shop mule. It is a cool piece. Runs good brakes need work, pedal goes to floor. Has the data plate, is a three speed transmission, engine ser. no UPHM11867. Would like to get her back to original condition. The fuel tank is gone, someone put a 5gal. jerry can under the seat plumb her in, it works. Will try to post some pictures in the gallery. I know what it is like to see other peoples treasures, I have been collecting aviation memerobilia for a long time. Now into restoring vintage military aircraft cockpits, instrument panels etc. Hoping to use the shop mule to tow my Cessna T-37B fuselage at fly-in and museum shows. Once again, Thanks

The difference between the A-14 and the A-21 is not much. Differences are minor and not consistent. Side by side, you won't see much unless you look real close and even then, it could be some change made after it was built. The A-14 came first, and was followed by the A-21. There are is much difference between older and later A-21 mules as there is between the A-14 and the A-21. This is an opinion, not fact, but I think they just changed the model number to end the confusion between the A-14 and the A-14V.

I agree with Jim Becker. The manual OEM has is for the A-14 (also works for the A-21) shop mule which is based on the Farmall A. If you have the A-14V mule, it is based on the H engine and I believe has a truck transmission and rear end. If it is a 14V, it would have a 3 speed transmission. I beleive the 14V was used mostly as an airport tug. At least it looks the part for that and does not have the tractor sheet metal. The A-14 and A-21 have the Farmall A sheet metal, engine, transmission and final drives. I have a limited amount of info on the A-14V which is from a copy of sales literature.

The manual that OEM has is for the model A-14, not the model A-14V. The A-14 was made using Farmall A components while the A-14V was made with Farmall H components.

I haven't seen any Hebard manuals on the Binder Books web page. Do you have to contact them about Hebard manuals?
