I have a 52 s m with bad trans.and disk brake parts missing,also have 43 m with good trans.@brakes.The 264 ran great,good oil press.no smoke,43 m, engine locked up.
So I split both, put the 264 on the 43,with new clutch @ press. plate.
I"m not interested in having a trailer queen, just an extra tractor that I can use in hay fields.
Put it all back together now the engine is locked up,it"s not the starter, cain"t break it loose with a 24 inch pipe wrench@ cheater bar,and I weigh over 240#
Engine ran good the day i split it.Been inside shop the whole time, about 6 weeks, what did i do wrong, anyone ever have such a thing to happen.
Beats the heck outta me.
Any advise would be greatly apprec.Wayne

As the other guys said look at the pressure plate & clutch 11 in. verses 12 in. A friend of mine has a Late 52 M and even came from the factory with a 12 in clutch set-up. The earlier model M have the 11 in.

An old tractor mechanic told me about a local farmer who phoned him to say his tractor wouldn't turn over. He had parked it there and removed the loader and it was siezed tight when he went to start it. Old mechanic went out and asked him where the bolts from the loader were. He said he put them back in the tractor and turned them in so he would have them in place for when he put the loader back on. Welp, he turned a bolt into the clutch and had it siezed. They took all the bolts out and the tractor started right up. Does this story help?

Check to see if you didn't pull a 12 inch pressure plate up agian a belley pump made for 11 inch clutch when you bolted togeather.Just a guess since I'm not looking at what you have.

If thats the problem, drop belley pump and put one in out of the super. That way you don't have to split tractor agian.

have pulled plugs,pb blaster, brake fluid, tranny fluid. All of the pistons are all in about the same position, about the middle of stroke.
Makes no diff. whether clutch is engaged or not.
Drivin me nuts.Wayne

I don't think there's a problem with the engine. Hal

Can you turn the engine if you disengage the clutch? Sounds like something is binding in the
clutch or gear train. I would pull the plugs just to make sure there's nothing in the cylinders
causing a lock. You may need to split the tractor again. Hal
