Could someone tell me where the Melrose Parks Works was located. I assume they made radiators there what else did they make there Thangs guy's.

Guy thanks for the info, but you forgot to mention where it is. I have heard of Melrose Park, but was wandering were it is.

melrose park is on the far west side of chicago, near ohare airport, they had another facility in bur ridge il too. years ago the a few of the farmers in our area would get a test tractor every now and then to use, no charge. they'd run the wheels off em, generally either plowing or disking. up in libertyville il, was the plant i-h bought from hough, they made the payloaders and such too.

Melrose Park is still in operation for Navistar. Mostly an engine plant, they also made large crawler tractors (TD-24), and a few farm tractors (W-9 family after 1946, up through the 650, large tractors)
