I recently purchased a fast hitch mower for my Super C and I would like to get some information. If anyone can determine the model number from picture it would help in my search for a manual. I'm also unsure as to how the lift linkage for the bar works. I've included a picture of piece that came attached to the bar lift linkage on the left side of the mower.

That may not be for a C at all there was also a version for a 230/240 and so on that used a chain hooked to the bottom of cylinder to work the lift mechanisim. It will work on a C but if you dont have the long lift rod you will have to make one. If you need it I can measure mine and give you the diminsions. To clear up any confusion they are the same mower with different lift set up.

Hi Jon, we have the 3pt hitch version bought new in about 1957. I believe the model was C28 but not 100% sure. On the 3pt version the cutter bar lift arm mechanism hooked under the left 3pt hitch arm on the tractor. Don't know how it connected on 2pt as 2pt arms don't move in relation to implement. Maybe it was connected to frame of tractor.

There is a long steel rod that attaches to the mower lifting arm with a clevis on the back end and the front end of the rod attaches to the touch control rock shaft on the left side of the tractor. The rod is approx. 5 feet or so long.

Jon, There were two 2 point fast hitch mowers made for the Super C. The C-21-P and the C-24-P. The easiest way to tell the difference is in the number of lifting springs on the back of the mower. The C-21-P has a single spring whereas the C-24-P has two. The latter model is considered a heavy duty model. I have manuals for both models as I was in your predicament at one time as well. Hope this helps, Hal.
