Hi Jimer, Glad to see you got the cable. The smaller metal threaded "cup" goes to the tach, the larger one goes to the distributor. While you are at it, I would recommend removing the drive gear, inspecting it and re-adjusting it. Best to clean it and relube it as well. Mine has some slop in it, but you have to buy the drive gear and housing if yours is toast. The drive mesh is adjusted by turning the scalloped housing which holds the cable off center. Mine goes all the way around and doesnt stop indicating my drive gear is like gone. The dot on the housing indicated either the furthest or closest mesh, cant recall, I just adjusted it so its the closest and it works. Hopefully your isnt that bad. I'm including page 63 of the manual that talks about the drive gear for you. As for the grommet, I dont recall mine having one of those. All the holders for the cable are just curved pieces of steel bolted with existing bolts for holders. Installation should be fairly simple just note how you remove the old one. The tach portion can be a tight squeeze. Not sure if you need to remove the tach or not, as I removed mine to fix the lens and already had it out. Best way to see is diconnect the battery, and remove the dash part with the ignition on it. Might need lots of pentrating oil on them screws. They have nuts welded on the back, so its not just 1 thread to overcome if they are tight. After removing this part, let it hang from the wires, you'll need to remove the 2 screws holding the choke cable as well, then the bottom of the tach should be viewable. Getting a wrench in there to remove the 2 nuts holding the tch in requires a bit of experimentation to get it to fit. I remember getting a bit fedup with it, heh, hopefully you wont need to remove the tach. Hopes this helps!! Sorry for the pic size, but I did this dilibertly so you could read it all
