I am rebuilding a C113 and bought the TISCO kit from this site. The connecting rod bushings are copper have a split so are not full hoop. I made a stepped tool on the lathe to push out the old ones but am not having luck getting the new ones in. I heated the rods to 300F in the oven for 3 hours, and chilled the bushings to zeroF then tryed to pursude them in using a vise....made no progress. Any idea's ?? thanks.

I took them to a machine shop and they confirmed they are the wrong bushings. The ID is right, but the wall thickness is .038 compared to the original .027. I'm having TISCO open some other bags today to see if they have some with the correct OD. They did confirm the part number on the bag was what they intended to send me....with my luck I have a "one of a kind" set of rods from the factory !

As the others have said, this is something you need to have done at a machine shop with the correct setup. While they are at it for a few dollars more they can check the rods to make sure they are not bent and if so can rebore the rod bearings to get everything in alignment. I just had mine done on my Farmall 350 diesel engine rebuild. Roger

El Toro is correct, the new bushings will need to be fit to the pins at a automotive machine shop that specializes in that oeration, and has a sizing /alignment machine. No other way is optional. JimN

Take them to your local auto machine shop and have them do it. Hal

The pin bushings are going to have to be sized after installation so unless you have access to the proper equipment you may as well let a machine shop both install and fit the pins.
