Two questions

I plowed for a couple of hours yesterday with the super c, after lunch before going back I
checked the fluids and the radiator had a better head of foam than some beer. What would
cause that?
Second what is the proper wheel spacing on a tricycle tractor for 36 inch rows

Set the wheels 4-inches from the end of the axel unless you have extra long axel shafts. The old Super C's were set up to run 40-inch rows (80-inches center to center for the wheels) with the wheels set at the end of the axel. For 38-inch rows there should be 2-inches of axel showing. If you have long axels, such as were common on the 200 and later, you would have to have 8-inches of axel showing on the end to accomplish 72-inches center to center. Most of the 200's were set up to run 44-inch rows maximum or 88-inches center to center. Where in Ga are you? I stay in Fairburn but farm in Moultrie. Larry

I had a similar experience with a 1936 Case Model L. The rad would foam something awfull. I though it might be cheap antifreeze so I changed it. It improved a bit but not much so I took the head in to get it magna-fluxed and pressure tested and it passed with flying colors. The head gasket looked OK but of course I installed the head with a new gskt. Still foamed.

I was checking the rad level after cultivating with it, when my brother came over. I asked him if he had ever seen so much foam in a rad. He looked in the rad said it smelled stongly of soap. I have long since lost my sense of smell unless it is very pungent, so I asked dad for an opinion without telling him what my brother had detected. Same thing. Smelled like soap to him too. Dad said it was quite common "back in the day" to use soap or pepper as a stop-leak.

I flushed the system with real good rad flush twice. Put new antifreeze in it and the foam is gone.

If the (C) you have has a water pump it might be sucking air.I have seen similar indications over the years on various engines.Just something to consider. CENTAUR

Most likely a cracked head. When I disassembled my H motor I took the head in for rebuild . After magna flux we found 4-5 small cracks. I went on a search for a head. I "bought" 4 different heads, had them fluxed and they all had cracks, some small, some larger. Then I started getting advice from older trator owners, they said " don't worry about those little cracks, all the heads have them". But I don't do things that way, so I took the very best head, had it spray welded, reconditioned by the top place in the US , in IA, and got basically a better than brand new head, That's the good news, it only cost 400 for the work! But on the upside I am now good to go for longer than the original!

72''center to center on rear tires. On the radiator maybe internal leakage of some type head gaskett ,cracked head or maybe it's time to replace the coolant.
