Finally got most of the leaks dried up on the 130. I"m slowly pulling sheet metal off and painting since I have not had a long enough dry spell in Indiana to blast and paint the cast parts. Anyway, one of the studs was separated from the "FARMALL" lettering on the hood. Not sure how it was originally attached, but I want to get it back together, the original lettering is nice and straight and I want to reuse it. Any ideas how I can re-attach the mounting stud to the lettering?

You would need both sufaces to be dry and clean and then use a dab of dental cement to secure the stud. Hal

USE THE 3M TWO SIDED TAPE USED TO ATTATCH EMBLEMS ON CARS WE HAVE USED THIS FOR SEVERAL 300'S. MAKE SURE THE TWO PARTS ARE CLEAN AND DRY.

I'd try some of the black JBWeld. It's made some miraculous repairs for me. Nothing to lose if it doesn't hold.

If you still have the stud, JB Weld should do the trick. Or you can put a blob of Bondo on the back of the lettering, press it into place making sure some oozes through the hole in the hood, hold it till it sets.

Unfortunately, you can't reattach the stud with any strength. Nothing you use to glue it back on will hold, and even if it's weldable, you can't weld it without ruining the finish on the metal.

Best thing to do is remount it with the remaining studs and see how well its mounted. If it's a little wobbly, you could carefully drill out where the stud was and replace it with a STAINLESS STEEL machine screw and nut. A stainless machine screw will disappear on the surface of the emblem; you won't even notice it's there.
