My dad and I began installing a used Worksaver (I think) 3pt hitch on my H today, and would like to know what length cylinders should be used? I have 2 - 2" cylinders with a closed pin center distance of 22 1/2". What cylinder length came with these hitches?

We mounted the original drawbar over the hitch brackets but it severely limits how far the lift arms will drop. We are thinking of making another drawbar that will not impede the lift arm drop. Does anyone here use a Worksaver with their drawbar? Thanks.

I think the Worksaver hitch that fits the H and M had a 3x8 cylinder, as in 3 inch bore by 8 inch stroke.

If you search the web, I think worksaver still has a site out there for more info.

Astandard I.H. eight inch stroke should work. If you make a smaller u shape suport for your swinging drawbar it will still move a bit. I have done that twice. Also you will want to build a hitch for the 3 point so you can pick up heavy implements without moving jacks for yard work. The fact that these htiches have down pressure is handy for that. Armand

I use a Saginaw with the original drawbar, I think you will find that the lower pins on most three point implements are higher than the drawbar, so that the arms never get that low. Exceptions may be an implement you are running very deep, but my guess is you will never have a problem. I think that hitch has been modified, the cylinder is supposed to be in a vertical position, attaching the rockshaft to the lower link. That hitch could be for a C, which does not use a cylinder on a Worksaver, instead using a rod running to the C's front rockshaft.

Making a V shaped pair of supports that go from the top 3pt cross member to the Draw bar (not U shaped part, just the now movable part) and removal of the U components would work. The V shape would center the hitch point, and allow PTO operation. It looks good and will be strong. JimN
