Just got a 424, looking for a set of sway bars, IH dealer are high. need a front bumper, also a new seat. Is their a replacement seat better than the orignal one? thanks for anybodys suggestions.

I also have a 424. Need the same parts you do. Grill, front bumper, seat with bracket, something to stabilyze and align bushhog. If you find any source for any of the above - please post back. Thanks ! Bob

I make them sometimes out of 1 inch water pipe. Cut to right length with implement centered on tractor. Flatten the ends with a hammer and drill a hole for the lift pins and they make fairly good stabilizers. The originals are expensive and not likely to be found in salvage yard.

The originals are chains; and don't do a very good job of eliminating "side-to-side" motion anyway.

I have a 424 and I have never found a salvage place with any parts I needed. Dealer high? Thats a universal truth, If you can get sway bars from CaseIH thats probably the route. I made chain sways to steady my brushog. I'm making my own grill because I couldn't find one either.
