I was at an auction today in the wet, and muddy weather, didnt buy anything, but I saw this 806
IH, and I liked it alot better than a 4020 JD,
Mann Im sure glad i got smart, before i made a mistake, and got a 4020, whew!!!!!
I like the steering wheel and control's up where you can get them, and not down low like JD's,
Pay's to wait before you move!

I have over 1000 hours on each. We had (still do) an 806 and the neighbor, who I worked for through high school had a 4020. Both were used for the same things. They are both examples of the best model made of that area for each company. While they are both very good examples of long lasting well thought out tractors the 806 out pulled the 4020 at the end of the day and was more comfortable (hours in the seat)over the long haul.

I have a 706 and just love it. But I have driven 4020s and always felt they were a little more user friendly and nimble to operate.

I do NOT want to stir up any arguments. However, we owned 806's since 1963 and in my opinion it was and is one of the best tractors ever made. I had a neighbor who had a nice 4020 but the 806 would out perform, out pull, out work that old JD everyday. We farmed together for several years and that old red tractor was more than the green machine wanted.

Amen Brother, I know that IH are ALOT BETTER THAN THOSE pesky Johhny's anyday,
My W-6 will out do most Johnny popper's, and I know W-9,s are unstoppable,
Get on You tube, and there's alot of IH stuff on there, there's a guy out in the field with a 1466 and boy howdy,,, It does sound good, I think alot better than any V8 engine's tractor,

A neighbor of mine has a 806 he has had for years. I watched him plow when I was in high school pulling a 5 bottom plow and cruising with it. In 1982 or so, he bought a new V-8 Massey and put the 5 bottom on it. I watched one day as the Massey jumped and bucked and spun out. The next morning when I went to check on cows, I heard the 806 in the distance. I went to his place and he had the plow back on the 806. He told me he would never use the Massey again. It sat by his barn for two years before he sold it. He still plows and cuts silage with that old girl, and wins most pulls around here with it.
