Anyone know the value of the attachments off of an A model? I recently restored my grandfathers tractor and trying to recoop some of the costs of what I paid (from the family auction)and for restoring. I have all the attachments including single bottom plow, belly mounted sickle bar mower, front blade, verticle & horizontal cylinders, cultivators and all mounting brackets. I need to find the valua of these or at least a good idea. Thanks for your help!

I think someday you might regret getting rid of these things. Since they were your grandfathers and came with the tractor most likely. These things are getting harder to find. I think the tractors going to shows should have an implement of some kind on them for the show. To me some of the old implements are more show worthy than just a tractor, without them the tractor isn't much use. Just my opinion mind you.

Thanks for your reply, well, I agree, my gut feeling said not to sell this stuff, but since I already let the exhuase lift and control valve go, I thought I shouldnt go back on what I told the gentleman who wants the brackets and cyliders. as for the plow, blade, sickle bar mower a cultivators, I think I will hold on to them. Thank you.

My FIL had a B with plow, mower and cultivators that he offered to me for 400 dollars. At the time I couldn't see a use for them so I passed. He later sold it to another guy, and I have regreted not buying it ever since. I now have a lot of old stuff that I don't have much use for, but I guess that is beside the point. All is not lost I found the tractor and cultivators, but now it is going to cost me 1000 dollars to get it. I have all of my grandpa's equipment on my dads side, and plan on getting my other grandpa's equipment soon. It is not really my brand, but I like all the old tractors. His is a Ford 600 with the original Dearborn plow, disk, planter and mower. I already have a Woods Bros corn picker so it will make a good set. I don't know were I will put all this stuff, but I will think of something.

I think the computer lost its connection when the power flicked off from the high wind. I'll send it again. Hal

Just a rough idea because location, condition of the implements and how badly someone wants what you have play a larger role in what you can get for them. Based on prices in my area:

Single bottom plow - $75 - $125 if complete
Sickle Mower - $150 - $250
Full set front & rear cultivators - $200 - $250
Front Blade - $250+
Cylinders (pnuematic lift?) - $50 - $75

Good luck!

Thanks. actually everything is in pretty good shape becuase my grandfather kept everything under shelter or in the barn. Also, how about the brackets for mounting the vertical and horizontal cylinders and cylinders themselves? they are in good shape but need to have leather o-rings replaced. I have someone that wants the brackets and cylinders only and I dont know what to tell him becuase I dont know the rarity. Thanks for your help.

The plow and cultivator setups on the A's were specific to being either a hand-lift or an exhaust lift. They have some common components but also some specific set-up pieces. To complicate the issue further, the exhaust lift mounting components were unique to the different implements, so it gets difficult to say where the complete setup for the exhaust lift and a complete setup for an implement begin and end. The setup in my opinion would be worth more as a complete package, than trying to sell the stuff individually. Incomplete implements are a dime a dozen and the exhaust lift pieces are readily available to those with deeper pockets than myself but complete setups for the implements (implement, mounting brackets, adjustment rods, etc.) are getting harder and harder to come across in good condition. At least in central Texas.

Brad, Thanks for your reply, because I let the exhaust lift go already, I think I will let the Cylinders and brackets go. but as far as anything that I can operate with the handlift, then I will probably keep. do you know if the front blade a sickly bar mower can be operated by the hand lifts? thanks.

cjrohr, If the front blade is an IH unit then it definately could be setup to either use a handlift or the exhaust lift, but there are some special components that you'll need to make it work correctly. I don't have a mid mounted sickle mower but I would guess that it could be made to work off a handlift as well. If you have only sold the control valve, that's one of the easier components to find. (pricey but readily available). I agree with georgeky that because of the family connection with this tractor and implements that you may regret selling this stuff. If you can keep these things with the tractor then I think you'll be glad you did.
