OK, I've been looking at these things/features for several months and have been trying to find out what their purposes are.

First pic: What is this on my wheel? At first I thought it was an extension for a dual wheel setup but it looks like it's not now since nothing lines up with other wheels that I have.

Second pic is of a sleeve that protrudes from the inside of my final drive. At first I thought it was some part that had stripped itself loose and had begun to slide out but after removal of the housing I saw it had it's own felt seals and all so it seems like it's supposed to be sticking out. What the heck is this for?????

Patrick -
To me it looks like home made gear drive for fertilizer distributor. I have a John Blue fertilizer distributor that has gear larger than that. Runs off the rear tires on my AC D10.

Took me forever to find a manual for it but it is unique and I have not seen another in my area (N. FL/S. GA).

The first pic is obvious. It's a saw blade. You pull alongside other farmers in your area and slash their tires, ala James Bond. Thereby ending their farming season, where you get to reap the rewards from higher prices due lowered supply. Simple and brilliant!

The second pic I have no idea.

as one of the earlier replies stated , the one behind the left side is where the fertlizer ,planter etc. drive sprocket mounts. the one on the right is a home made sprocket assy.for most likely a johnblue fertlizer dist.which used this type of drive.

I seen on your pic's that your top pic says X and the bottom one says Z. If everything else is Z then it is a 54 if X then it is a 52 from the pic's it looks like you got a pieced to gether tractor.

On our super A the inside sleeve was the drive for a sprocket that turned the fertilizer distributer and planter. The sprocket on the wheel appears to have the same type function.
A sprocket fit on the sleeve and a chain ran to a sprocket on the distributer.
Hope this helps.

maybe for some type of planter or a sod cutter? I know that a few implemts can be run off the final drives.

IHC-Farmall,

Everything else for the most part is a Z. I have that heavy wheel and one other part that has the other letter.

Andrew Z ,

By that do you mean from the inside or from the outside (wheel side)?
