Farmall H leaks fuel

I have a farmall H and I just replaced the old high compression manifold with the regular gasoline manifold. My problem is that where the carb connects to the bottom of the manifold it is leaking gas when I run it. I had to use small diameter bolts to accomodate the new manifold versus the old one which had threaded studs on it. It's kind of a pain in the butt tightening the nut on the inside because there is no room.

What the others say. The gasoline manifold IS the manifold for the high compression engines. The kerosene/distillate manifold with the adjustments and heat shield is the low compression version.

Sounds like it is getting to much fuel or your gasket is not sealing. Do not over-tighten the bolts or you will ruin the gasket. You should remove the manifold and evenly tighten the bolts and then put it back on the tractor and see if it still leaks. That is not the easiest thing to do, but it is the best way to do it.

If you have a good gasket there should be no gas leak as the vaccum will pull the vaporized mixture to the cycls. Are you sure that the wetness you see isnt condensation as all carbs will get wet in a high humidity condition and if the temp is rite it will show as frost this is normall as carbs have done it since their begining.
