I got my 1066 out of the shed today and went to turn on the AC. Turned the OFF/LO/MED/HIGH switch to medium and the fan squalled like it was dry so shut off and turned back on. This time it didn't squal and ran for a second and just quit. I am wandering if the switch is bad or if there is a fuse in line that blew. Do you How is the easiest way to get to that motor? What do I check for when I get there? Wanted to use the cussed thing tomorrow.

Sure sounds like the bushings are gone in the blower motor.

Go in thru the roof panel to access. Not a bad job at all once you get the roof opened up.

Allan,
I do not even think the motor is getting power to it. I suppose I can check that when I get the top off.

I showed my stupidity asking how to get to it and realized what I did and went out and looked after I posted.

Are there any fuses?

It is fused thru one of the circuit breakers down behind that right battery.

That "squealing" sure sounds like a blower motor bit the dust tho. Can you turn the squirrel cage?

Hey I found the problem! I followed the wiring harness to where it goes down the front right cab post and out the bottom. About a foot from where it exits the cab, There are a bunch of wire splices all taped over (from previous owner I suppose). I jiggled them with the ignition key and blower switch on and the blower motor started running. No squall either.

Is there a way to oil the bushings in the motor without tearing the squirrel cage apart If so I might try.

Sure,

Give "er a good shot of penetrating oil right where the shafts enter the motor. It"ll prolong it for awhile.

Glad ya found her!

Yep! The squirrel cage turns freely. Doesn't mean the bushings aren't dry or shot. Took a test light and there is power to the junction box(right threaded post) but no power on the middle post or the left post which is the one sending power over to the fan speed switch. Is that relay you talked about bad or is it the junction box.
