I have a shot at some used tires. Thinking I may need to step up in rim width. Cannot find the link for old sizes to new size. Currently it is wearing 12.4-38s

Rig will only used to move wagons on flat ground and no real hard work i.e. plowing etc. Anyone got an H pic with wider tires? Does it look like a turd in a punch bowl?

Thanks!

Shep, as some have said your H will NOT handle tires that big. IT will bog down with that wagon. The 12.4 are plenty big enough. It is up to you., but you will not be happy with this choice. They do look funny with those big ones as well. I have 16.9 on a 400 and they are big on it.

Unless you like to look at oversized tires 16.9's (14 in old size) are way to big for an H. Effective power will be reduced and ground speeds will increase. 12.4's (11 old size) are ideal for an H, max should be 13.6 (12 old size). You won't gain anything, and yes you will need wider rims.

Geeze Shep,

I'm pretty darned confident that it will pull itself in low gear, aren't you? :>)

I'd say high gear would be nearly useless with 16.9's.

Here is my old '46. Those are 24" diameter, I think. Not sure of the width.

Id think about 350 cast hubs,,, 14 inch rims, and possibly widen them to 16. I put 16.9X34's on my H, with oliver 9 bolt cast centers and hubs and I like em. Chad

You will need 15" wide rims to mount those 16.9s. I doubt if you will find a 15" rim that will fit the H cast centers.
