This is on a '44 H. I haven't seen one like it before. Is it stock? An option? Some aftermarket addition?

Mike, are there two of those Goodyear Traction Torque tires on there? Are they in good shape? What size? I have ONE perfect but can't find a mate for it. Maybe we can make one goos set up for either of us.

Gordo,

I wish I could help you, but these tires look pretty bald. The one on the left (top pick) is the Goodyear you mentioned. The one on the right (bottom pic) is Firestone... and equally bald.

There is a guy who lives two hours north of me selling a rear wheel set with 70% GoodYear's on them for $500. I'm considering them, but I don't think it would be cheap or easy for you to get them, but let me know, and I could pursue them if you are interested.

No Bob, I sure haven't. Not yet, at least. I went and looked at it, but I haven't sat down with the owner to talk business yet. I hope he has a generous heart, because I'll need it for a small price tag and extended payment option. :)

It's an aftermarket M&W throttle. I much prefer the IH throttle rather than the M&W throttle because when the M&W ones don't stay in position as well. The IH throttle has teeth which make it a lot nicer. I would put on a IH throttle.

The original ones didnt keep their settings good at the least thats why the M@W became so popular. You haven spent days running a cornpicker ,combine, plowing, discing on and on then you would realy get to like the benefits of the M@W.

Looks like an M&W to me, but mine has the knob cast into it. That one looks like plastic or rubber knob on it...

I prefer the friction throttle - more settings, etc. But you have to have decent friction material and a good spring or it won't hold.

It is an M&W aftermarket throttle control. Designed to give more infinite throttle settings than what the original saw tooth throttle could give. Just how effective it is open to opinion. Some folks like them, some don't. New ones are readily available, and priced at about $25 or less, they do provide an inexpensive option when replacing a worn out original. New friction discs are also available for the old M&W throttle.

Looks like an after market friction type throttle to me.
