Hey gang, I just got my sweetie back to gether. I havn't really worked the rings in yet, but at half throttle and over she really starts ti surge on the govenor. I know there are some things to check in the IT manual I have, just wanted some input from the gurus on this forum..

I never had a problem with it prior to the rebuild, go figure... What do you think??

I'm having the same issue on my 130, can someone please explain how to "get it close". I don't have any manuals right now.

Trial and error. Look at bottom of governor housing. remove cap nut then turn locking nut counter clockwise, turn the stud sticking out until tractor stops hunting. It will be best to wait and get the book. It has all critical adjustments. It could be broken or weak spring inside of governor or the thrust bearing. These parts are available at 1-888-824-0544.

There is an adjustment for this on the underside of the governor housing. It is behind the the cap nut. Page 43 in the IT manual, figure IH 390 item number 22. All info needed is in the book.

Had that prob. on my Super C, I flowed the directions in the IT manual. Thats gets you to in the ball park then it uaslly about a turn one way or the other to get it exact.
