I am just wondering if I can remove one frame rail at a time from my H to clean/strip and repaint. Not sure if I will have to brace or reinforce anything, or if I may have to block up the engine/transmission. I appreciate your advice! Aaron

After you get them off, blast them. Then polish them up with 80 grit flap wheel on a 4 1/2 offset grinder. If you are a perfectionist, weld up the oblong holes from prior loader application and bore/file them to original diameter. Then a coat of epoxy primer. It's no sand. Then 4 coats of primer surfacer. Block sand with 220. Then four more coats andblock sand with 320. Then paint. I gaurantee you they will look like a granite counter top.

yes you can do one frame rail at a time, but put a jack under the clutch housing to relieve the twisting when one rail is off.

I've done it on several of them.Make sure nobody will try to move it.On one of them I did,I had to use a large punch to get all of the bolt holes to line up again.Be sure to paint that part of the engine while the rail is off.John.
