Sorry for the message I was just conveying what I had heard. and since fuel is such a big part of all of our lives, hobbies, jobs, pleasure ect... I thought that I would throw this notion out there. I did not mean to steer up controversy, and such!!!!

Andrew: You don't need to feel sorry for that, we need folks to raise awareness. We need to use less of the whole damn automotive industry's products. If we could achive a goal or 30% less fuel use, within 3 months the oil folks would be crying UNCLE.

Problem is it's hard for most folks to quit, and the real problem is consumer debt. Folks are just going to have to find a way to get out of debt and stay out of debt, then and only then they will be able to tell Corperate America to "TAKE THIS JOB AND SHOVE IT" Clearly we have to learn to live with less.

Yeah, well gas boycotts are one of the STUPIDEST notions ever conceived by man. Just DUMB DUMB DUMB! Think about it:

If I don't buy gas today, I'll have to buy gas tomorrow. I won't use any less gas, so they'll still get my business.

If I don't buy gas at Citgo, I'll buy it at Hess, Sunoco, Mobil, Exxon. SOME oil company will get my money because I need gas to get to and from work so I can have money to buy gas!

These widely-publicized "boycotts" do nothing to "hurt" "big oil." What they don't rake in today, they will rake in tomorrow. What they don't rake in under one brand name, they rake in under another.

The only sane, practical, feasible way to bring gas prices down is to USE LESS GAS.

Any time fuel prices are brought up for discussion, there will be controversy. I really don't think anyone was picking on you specifically.

This same discussion came up about a week ago, and I was the one that mentioned that just maybe those refinery fires were not purely accidental. I caught a bunch of flak for that, but none of that flak made me think any differently.

If we all stick together, I think we can make a difference.

Whelp, I've been keeping it under 70mph on my commute and thats brought my little car back up to 40mpg. I do 110 miles a day, so I'm saving a couple gallons a week.
Theres like 10 million gallons of gas sold every day or some other equally crazy number. If each of us could save a couple gallons a week prices would fall.

You're absolutely right, we need to stick together, its what we're sticking together for that we disagree about.
