MY PEOPLE, the Norwegians, this day celebrate Syttende Mai. The 17th of May as Independence Day from Sweden. I refer to myself as a Full-Blooded, Norwegian hyphenated American. You know..... to match all the other "hyphenated" Americans. Being born in this country, I can also say I am a Native hyphenated American. American FIRST though! Then comes the Norwegian, as MY PEOPLE assimilated into this country, i.e. legally, learning the language, pledging allegiance to this nation and respecting its laws, not using them for their own "hyphenated" and/or illegal benefit(s). Kathuddd [sound made as author stomps down from his pulpit] And now -- "Ole, one day felt so much love for his wife, that he almost told her." mange takk for your time.

All you Norwegians, Danes and Swedes came all the way over here and immediately went to the frozen flat tundra known as the upper midwest. I guess you guys don't mind bitter cold, but you just can't stand walking up a hill. ;^)

Here's one for you:

Norwegian Technology. After having dug to a depth of 10 meters last year, Scottish scientists
found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion
that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years
ago.

Not to be outdone by the Scots, in the weeks that followed, British
scientists dug to a depth of 20 meters, and shortly after, headlines in the
UK newspapers read: "British archaeologists have found traces of 200 year
old copper wire and have concluded that their ancestors already had an
advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than the
Scots."

One week later, "The Klub", a Sunburg, Minnesota newspaper reported the
following: "After digging as deep as 30 meters in corn fields near Games
Lake , Ole Johnson, a self taught archeologist, reported that he found
absolutely nothing. Ole has therefore concluded that 300 years ago
Norwegians were already using wireless."

So der yu ar den

You can always tell a Swede. You just can't tell him much.
