Many of the most leak prone seals do not require a teardown to replace them. Some do, but manuals are the key. Also keep asking us, we have been there many times on many occasions (collectivly) JimN

You'll be looking at $10,000 easily if you're planning on removing every last nut and bolt. Engine overhaul can be a very big deal. Could run you close to $5000 if you go all out and rebuild the injection pump, replace injectors, and machine the block to accept the press fit sleeves to avoid the sleeve cracking issues these engines had. Are there any known problems with the rear end? The TA is the most common problem, but can be replaced for under $1000 if you do the work yourself. There's usually no need to tear into the transmission unless there's a failure. Go to your local Case-IH dealer, get a parts book, make a list of every part you think you need, then have them price it all out.

Service manuals, repair manuals, and owners manuals. Both from CaseIH, and IT. The questions you raise are almost all addressed in those. We can help with diagnosis if given specifics. JimN
