got another question guys. Does anyone have a picture of how the original is rigged????

Here is a pic of what I have. (or have not) third party image

I just got my I&T manual today too!!!! :) I see that the shifter just controls a simple sliding splined sleeve that engages the transmission output.

Patrick, Tom is right a cable will not work. You have to be able to push down on the rod to disengage the PTO. The light is in the right place. There is a bracket that mounts in with the center deck bolt. It stick over towards the light some. The engaging rod is also bent some to make up the rest of the difference. I will send you a picture of a 100% original 1950 M tomorrow. It will show just what you need. I don't have one, but with the picture you should be able to make one.

My 'H' has the light on the right (viewed from the rear) and a bracket for the PTO control where your rear light is located. Very easy to access from the driver's seat.

I think this is rigged the same way as My h. There is a small flange with a hole in it under the bolt there at the rear light. A rod extends down through the flange to the lever. The operator simply can reach around and pull the lever to engage the PTO.

I thought that too. If this is the case then I think I will redo this with a cable type setup and rout the control to the light bar. Might be a little handier?

Dont think the cable is going to work. There is a ball and spring inside the unit which holds it in place. It requres some effort both up and down to change positions!
