I just want to thank this forum for giving me so much info on Farmall which assisted me in making my first purchase. I picked up a rebuilt M last week, done to super M specs. Valves, seals, sleeves, etc. He kept the Firecrater pistons, said they looked like new when he pulled them. The carb was also rebuilt but when I got it home, the next morning found it had been dripping all night. When I shut the fuel off, it stopped. Checked the float, it seems to be seating. Any suggestions?

There are 2 types of Ms those that drip a little fuel when left with fuel on and those that will drip fuel when left with fuel on sooner or later.

Always was standard practice on all our old Farmalls to shut the fuel off at the sediment bowl whenever we shut the tractor down for the night. I know that doesnt answer your question but that's the way we always did it.

Thanks, it looks like the graphite seal you mentioned. I'll check on the procedure to do this. Also, I plan on getting a 3point for this. I hear Saginaw is THE place to purchase one. Any opinions?

Yes, Saginaw certainly seems to be the superior aftermarket 3-point unit and the brand of choice in the opinion of most H,M,etc owners. mike

Check the float level. if thats good, Also if its dripping on the bottom where the load screw is the graphite packing may need to be replaced.

The old farmer method to fix a stuck float was to tap the carberator bowl with a pair of plyers or what else was handy. Ok for a once in a while event or to solve the immediate problem but if it sticks often time to investigate anc correct. Jon
