Hey ever one how are you doing? Well ive done some work on the cub and im getting spark and smoke witch is a lot better then it was. Now the timeing is messd up my falt lol. I took the mag off and put points and that stuff in it and still did not get a spark. So I took it to a friend of mine and he tore it apart and rebilt the hole thing for me and he did it in about 45 mins. So some time tomarow im going over to another friends house and see if I can get the man to come out and time it for me. I tryd to do it but it was makeing me mad lol. I hope he can come out he is in his 80s and still gets along just fine. Hear is a photo of the cub now. Ive started to sand on it with a wire wheel and the guy that did the mag for me he gave me a new can of Ih red paint and ever thing so im really luckey. But any ways take care ever one.

You need to bring No1 piston to TDC on the compression stroke. You need to feel the compression and you need to crank it slow until the notch on the damper pulley is aligned with the
pointer. Turn the rotor to the No1 plug tower where your plug wire connects to the cap. No1 is near the radiator. Then install the mag. Hal

I did that today and still nothing. But my friend is comeing here tomarow. I did get the mag in time with the engine. And I put the rotor on the #1 plug tower. I know its #1 the cap has the # 1 on it. I was just out there messing with it and I was looking and im like thats one of my problems there lol. I think the timeing on the mag is just a lil to fast. So ill go trun the mag back a lil. and see where the rotor is. Thanks for the help

Did you ever get the mag to fire when it was removed from the engine? You may have a bad condenser, points may need to be cleaned until shiny, clean them with a piece of 320 wet or dry and then use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to clean them. If they're new points use the alcohol and cotton swab to clean them too. You could have a weak coil or the mag's magnets have lost their magnetism. Touch the magnets with a screwdriver to see if it attracts the screwdriver with a lot of effort. A lot of things can cause a no fire. Hal

I do have fire. All new points ever thing. I think its just out of time in a way lol. I talkd to the guy that works on my old truck and he said sence it has not been started in a year put some oil in the spark plug holes just a lil. That way it wont mess any thing up in that part. He said I bet any thing that the frist time you start it you will need to pull it with your truck. Well I did that today and it all most started. I dont think the timeing is right. I tryd to do it but he said call him back in a day or two. He said he will come out on sunday on there way back from some place sence thay will be out this way. The old man did not come out I was soo mad sence I did not get to work today. Latey all my so calld friends say thay will do something and thay never do. So im not a happy camper at all. But I do thank you for the help you have gave me.

Pull No1 sparkplug near the radiator and then bring No1 piston to TDC on the compression stroke.
Hold your thumb over the plug hole until you feel compression against your thumb. Keep slowly cranking until the notch on the damper is aligned with the pointer. Then remove the cap from the mag and see where your rotor is pointing. It should at the No1 plug tower that's near 1 o'clock. Check you plug wires to see they're installed in the correct firing order.

Here is the better hafe of my 41 A lol. As you can see its a mess still!!! I did get the engine off when I pulld the cub to the house. I have not done any thing with the engine yet. Still cant find one that is runing to bolt right on. It woud be so much better for me. So im still looking around. Thanks for all the help ever one has gave me.
