I went to replace the main tank fuel line between the tank and the fuel filter on the 424 (wore a hole in it) and it doesn't look like standard brake line type double flair fittings. more like a really thin compression ferrel. Is that a speciality part or can I use a compression ferrel fitting on the new line? Thanks

If it has a hole wore in it, I would just braze it up.

Tried that, but one of those ferrels was aparently plastic (naturally, right next to the hole worn in it) and it went poof.

If you need to cut the gas line be sure to use a tube cutter. Hal

You need IH part number 19 985 R1 ferrule/nut 1/2"-20 HI-DUTY fuel fitting.

CNH MAY have changed the part number, but they're still readily available from your dealer, at least as of a month or two ago.
