Was at a tractor pull yesterday in granby MA, first one of the year and had some trouble. I have a 46 H and when the sled was loaded with 4 blocks, I throttled up the engine and it just lost steam. Last year I had the same problem, I rebuilt the carb, new wires and plugs too. After all of that I didn"t have any more trouble. I know that the compression is good, spark is strong, and carb should be clean. I did notice some other machines having some trouble too but not as bad as mine. Can anyone offer some suggestions?

Thanks,

Jack

I don't know what 4 blocks means or what you mean when you say it lost steam. Was it simply too much weight for the H to start out with or did you pull it a little and then run out of power? It sounds like a carb problem. I guess you are starved for fuel. My tractors usually spin out and they never are at a loss for power.

The blocks are 820lbs each, and the stone boat another 250 lbs. The engine slowed down and stalled. Under normal corcumstances, the govrenor will compensate and the engine maintains power. Yesterday, it slowly wound down and stalled. This happened once last year however I thought I corrected the problem. Apparently not. Anyone who can lend some advice as to what to do would be greatly appreciated.

Jack
