Brass won't rust and can be easily removed. Don't tighten them too tight. You might strip the threads.

I thought of you today when the Durham county DA Nifong resigned. You would make a good replacement. He sure didn't use good judgement> Hal

Yep, we lawyers have a new word in our word cabinet..."Nifonged"

He, of all people, should have used a lot of judgment in this thing in the beginning and left the investigation to the police rather than inserting himself into the affray--which he did--he was up for relection and he was trying to make hay with it! I hope they take his license. Just this week...HE got the message that he was holding the D/As office up to public disrespect and that HE was in deep doo do. JUST THIS WEEK...when his license was in jeopardy.

This is going to be an eye opener for DA's around the country. I can see NC versus Nifong being quoted in courtrooms. Hal

Thick washers don't bend, brass nuts don't get corroded and stuck on the studs as easily.

Seems like stainless steel would be the best choice. I use stainless washers, lock washers, and nuts on my exhaust manifolds. Never had trouble getting one off since.

That would seem to make more sense until you think about the relative hardness' of the studs versus the nuts . Which one would you rather have strip first ? A brass nut is a lot easier to replace than a stud . JMTC ...Randy
