Hello All.

I know it has been posted on here before, but I cant seem to find it when I search.

I thought that I read that if I am going to replace the brake bands on my M, I should only get the genuine IH bands, correct? Apparently the reasoning was that some of the aftermarket bands werent fitting very well on the drum and were either too tight or too loose.....

Can anyone speak from any experience?

Much thanks!

~Bug

No, clutch disks and Pressure plates are common Items and can be found at NAPA, and other places with little waiting. They can be relined, it is usually done on the core you turn in to the store where you buy it. Good luck, Jim

Thanks again for the help Jim.

The only reason I was looking to go new is that the previous owner told me how he broke a band, and had to weld it back together. I havent cracked the cover open yet to check and see what it looks like, but I wanted to ask before I do...
(The reason for all the questions on all the projects is that Im currently 400 miles from my tractor, and when I go back to my folks to work on it, internet access is hard to come by. So, Im just asking what I can think of now, and Ill apply it all in a few weeks hopefully)

If they are in good shape Ill see what I can do for linings. Would you say the same thing if the clutch linings are shot as well?

Having you old bands relined at a hoist/crane shop is a better solution, you know they fit. JimN
