KD, GREAT info and explanation by Jim there, I will just add a few more tid bits. First, as he well explained but for your information (just in case you remain unaware), ITS THE GENERATOR, NOT THE VR THAT GETS POLARIZED Second, its sure worth a try to start all over and Polarize the genny as he described BEFORE your fire her up then see what happens ????? ? Third, a potential problem is if you start up a genny thats polarized opposite from the battery and she ran long enough THE VR MAY HAVE LOST ITS MIND LOL and be injured as he was talkin about. If you ever let the smoke out of those devices that are shot ya know..... .. Hook er up,,,,, ,,,,, POLARIZE,,,,, ,see what happens ????? ????? ????? ???? Im not sure just how you "polarized incorrectly" heck she may be fine, its just if she were polarized but then you reversed battery polarity and failed to re polarize things (The VR) may have got messed up, LETS HOPE N SHE MAY WELL BE FINE IF STILL NO CHARGE post back n one of us will guide you through troubleshooting to tell if its a VR or a genny problem John T
