I live in Michigan and have an interest in (5) older Farmall ("Cub","C","H"&"M's") tractors. Two of them get used in the winter pushing snow. The others basically set all winter. The question is should they be started and warmed up every 3 to 4 weeks or is it best to let them set without starting for 4 to 5 months? Thanks in advance for your response.

I would store them like you store an outboard motor. Put stabilizer in the gas, Spray fogging oil in the carb. and shut it off with the carb. full of gas. The fogging oil you can get at a boat store and it coats the inside of the engine with a thin coat of oil that will stick until it is burned off. I store all my seasonal engines this way and they allways start right up. With the Carb. full of gas, it won't get condinsation in it as it would if it were empty.

I would have to agree with F14 on this one, unless you can warm them up to full operating temperature and drive them around a little bit, don't bother starting them. IF you start an engine and don't warm it up really good condensation occurs in the crankcase. This means water in the oil, and water in the oil turns to acid and eats main and rod bearings.

If they are going to sit for more than a month I would put a couple tablespoons of 2 cycle oil down the spark plug holes to keep everything lubricated for easier starting in the spring. I use 2 cycle oil because it burns off easier when you start the tractor.

I have a restored Super A, I have
it stored outside under a canopy.
Fluids levels are all topped off,
and have the battery stored inside.
Whenever I wanted to start it, I would
just have to bring the battery back outside and let it run. It fired right
up.

Start them ONLY if you can run them long enough and hard enough to get them up to working temperature.

Otherwise, best to top off all the fluids, put some Stabil in the gas, store the batteries in a warm place and let 'em set.
