Just purchased my 1st tractor and there are a few leaks. Is there much to dropping the oil pan and replacing the gasket? How about the valve cover. Remember....I am new at this, so use simple terms. haha Thanks

No problem at all, very simple, unbolt all bolts and replace, will need new gasket, also check oil pan corners, we used to weld them all a lot, was a difficult steel stamping to make, you will see wrinkles in corners anyway.

Your RIGHT! I think Dad's welded all 4 corners on His '51 M. Never had any problems with the H's... and he got rid of the Super M-TA and 450 while they were still too new. Dad bought the M new and it turned 50 day or two before Christmas.. The Super H was bought used, about 13 yrs old... Both still run good!

If you haven't gotten them already You should get Operator's manuals, a parts book and a Service manual. Lots of repair & maintenance advice in the Operator's Manual. Exploded parts views in the parts book. And disassembly and reassembly directions, torque specs., and trouble-shooting proceedures in the service manual.
