Be prepared, when you send in the form, it might take 5 months or so to get the caps, but they do come.

I first heard about the offer in 1984 or 1985.
I know some guys that get them wish they had their old ones back. They dont like the way the new ones fit.
Back then the dealer took your old one in trade for the newer one.

Now I may be wrong but I belive that the new ones are the taller ones. If yours already has the taller one you may not need another new one. I think the short ones are the ones that are to be replaced. If I'am wrong please let me know. Maybe Ken Updike could shed a better light on this.

As far as I know it covers the letter series for sure, I think the number series came with the taller cap. no form is necessary: Send an email with your name, address, phone number, model serial number (if known)and model number (mandatory) for each tractor that needs a cap. To: Mark.Clark@Nav-International.com, or just call him (Mark Clark) at 260-461-1873 with the information. And here is the form if you prefer snail mail, right click, save, open it later and print it out.

Years ago International was involved in a lawsuit over non vented or faulty veted caps, I'm not sure which. As part of the settlement they are obligated to replace gas caps on gasoline tractors, not sure when the cut off date/model is. For more, search the archives for "free gas cap" I'm sure there's about a zillion posts on there. I think Steven@ND has a copy of the form if you want to order one. Good luck, Fireman

The law suit was from a fellow in Illinois that drove his very hot 560 with corn picker mounted up to his gas barrell and filled it without letting things cool down, when tank on tractor was full it expanded & spewed out vent hole in original cap, caught him and machine on fire, not a good deal for anybody, anyway lawyers jumped on this and he got a big $$$ settlement, IH tried to correct this by triple vent cap that is being sent free.
